Review: A Fistful of Charms

A Fistful of Charms (The Hollows, Book 4)
A Fistful of Charms (The Hollows, Book 4) by Kim Harrison

Book Blurb:
The evil night things that prowl Cincinnati despise witch and bounty hunter Rachel Morgan. Her new reputation for the dark arts is turning human and undead heads alike with the intent to possess, bed, and kill her—not necessarily in that order.
Now a mortal lover who abandoned Rachel has returned, haunted by his secret past. And there are those who covet what Nick possesses—savage beasts willing to destroy the Hollows and everyone in it if necessary.
Forced to keep a low profile or eternally suffer the wrath of a vengeful demon, Rachel must nevertheless act quickly. For the pack is gathering for the first time in millennia to ravage and rule. And suddenly more than Rachel's soul is at stake.

**WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS**
The Highlights:
Rachel has to go to Michigan to save Nick (her ex) from a survivalist group of werewolves who want a statue that would give them ability to create new werewolves by biting someone. To accomplish this she needed backup so her and Ceri create a potion that make Jenks human size. They also make a potion that enables Rachel to were because she has already been challenged in David's pack. During the whole escaped of saving Nick, Rachel finally says yes to Ivy but things got out of hand and Ivy nearly kills Rachel. Rachel, Nick, Ivy and Jenks come up with a plan to fake Nick's death so that the werewolves will stop coming after him for the statue. At the same time Rachel moves that statues power into another statue because she doesn't trust Nick, which she was correct in doing. Rachel ends up giving the statue to David. Also Brett (a member of the survivalist group) followed her back to Cincinnati because she bested him and considers Rachel dominant to him.

My review:
Love the cast of characters and half the time just wanted to throttle Nick! Jenks really made this book hilarious! Sometimes it seemed parts of the book were overly descriptive and repetitive and that is the ONLY reason this book didn't bump the rating to 4 stars. All in all, still going to continue with this series because it does leave my wanting to find out what happens next!

My rating:
3 STARS
