CURRENTLY READING

The Van Alen Legacy (Blue Bloods, Book 4)GREAT READ SO FAR!
With the stunning revelation surrounding Bliss's true identity comes the growing threat of the sinister Silver Bloods. Not to worry, love is still in the air for the young vampires of the Upper East Side. Or is it?

Jack and Schuyler are over. Oliver's brokenhearted. And only the cunning Mimi seems to be happily engaged.Young, fanged, and fabulous, Melissa de la Cruz's vampires unite in this highly anticipated fourth installment of the Blue Bloods series.

 STILL WORKING ON THIS ONE....:)
Night World No. 1: Secret Vampire; Daughters of Darkness; SpellbinderVampires, werewolves, witches, shapeshifters -- they live among us without our knowledge. Night World is their secret society, a secret society with very strict rules. And falling in love breaks all the laws of the Night World.
In Secret Vampire, Poppy thought the summer would last forever. Then she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Now Poppy's only hope for survival is James, her friend and secret love. A vampire in the Night World, James can make Poppy immortal. But first they both must risk everything to go against the laws of Night World.
Fugitives from Night World, three vampire sisters leave their isolated home to live among humans in Daughters of Darkness. Their brother, Ash, is sent to bring the girls back, but he falls in love with their beautiful friend.
Two witch cousins fight over their high school crush. It's a battle between black magic and white magic in Spellbinder.

The Torment of Others: A NovelTHIS ONE SEEMS INTRIGUING!
Dr. Tony Hill and Detective Chief Inspector Carol Jordan return in the award-winning series that is the basis for the hit show on BBC America.
In a small grim room, the body of a woman is discovered, panic and pain etched in her face. The scene matches in every detail a series of murders two years ago-murders that ended when irrefutable forensic evidence secured the conviction of a deeply disturbed young man named Derek Tyler.
But there's no way Tyler could have killed the latest victim. He's been locked up in a mental institution since his trial, barely speaking a word. So is there a copycat?
All his years of experience tell top criminal psychologist Dr. Tony Hill that there isn't-but that would make the murders literally impossible. While Hill tries to crack Tyler, DCI Carol Jordan and her team must mount a desperate undercover operation to trap the murderer-a decision that will have terrible consequences.
As the tension mounts, a mixture of psychological insight and dogged detective work leads inexorably to a terrifying climax where Tony faces one of the most perverse killers he has ever encountered.

Creepers
GREAT THRILLER!! I GAVE IT 5 STARS! IF YOU WANT A FAST PACED THRILLER WITH LOTS OF TWISTS THIS IS ONE FOR YOU!
On a cold October night, five people gather in a run-down motel on the Jersey shore and prepare to break into the Paragon Hotel. The once-magnificent structure is now boarded up and marked for demolition.
They are "creepers": urban explorers with a passion for investigating abandoned buildings and their dying secrets. Reporter Frank Balenger joins them to profile this highly illegal activity for the New York Times. But he isn't looking for just another story, and soon after they enter the rat-infested tunnel leading to the hotel, he gets more than he bargained for. Danger, fear, and death await the creepers in a place ravaged by time and redolent of evil.

The Duke & the Pirate Queen
REVIEW TO BE POSTED LATER. ANY HISTORICAL ROMANCE READER WILL LOVE THIS ONE!
Aboard her privateering ship Seaflower, Captain Imena Leung is the law.  Ashore she answers only to her employer, Duke Maxime.  They are a powerful couple, with an intense attraction neither can disguise or deny.  As a nobleman, Maxime is destined to wed strategically, so his seductive advances must be purely for pleasure.  And what self-respecting pirate denies herself any pleasure?

Their delicious dalliance is prolonged when Imena is forced to abduct Maxime to foil a political plot against him.  At sea, with a stunningly virile man bound in her private quarters, Imena can imagine--and enact--any number of intoxicating scenarios.

Interview with the Vampire

I HAD TO PICK AN OLD FAVORITE FOR ONE OF MY BOOK CHALLENGES AND THIS IS THE ONE I WILL BE RE-READING
This is the story of the Louis, as told in his own words, of his journey through mortal and immortal life. Louis recounts how he became a vampire at the hands of the radiant and sinister Lestat and how he became indoctrinated, unwillingly, into the vampire way of life. His story ebbs and flows through the streets of New Orleans, defining crucial moments such as his discovery of the exquisite lost young child Claudia, wanting not to hurt but to comfort her with the last breaths of humanity he has inside. Yet, he makes Claudia a vampire, trapping her womanly passion, will, and intelligence inside the body of a small child. Louis and Claudia form a seemingly unbreakable alliance and even "settle down" for a while in the opulent French Quarter. Louis remembers Claudia's struggle to understand herself and the hatred they both have for Lestat that sends them halfway across the world to seek others of their kind. Louis and Claudia are desperate to find somewhere they belong, to find others who understand, and someone who knows what and why they are.
Louis and Claudia travel Europe, eventually coming to Paris and the ragingly successful Theatre des Vampires--a theatre of vampires pretending to be mortals pretending to be vampires. Here they meet the magnetic and ethereal Armand, who brings them into a whole society of vampires. But Louis and Claudia find that finding others like themselves provides no easy answers and in fact presents dangers they scarcely imagined.

Annexed
BEEN WANTING TO READ THIS ONE!
Everyone knows about Anne Frank and her life hidden in the secret annex - but what about the boy who was also trapped there with her? In this powerful and gripping novel, Sharon Dogar explores what this might have been like from Peter's point of view.  What was it like to be forced into hiding with Anne Frank, first to hate her and then to find yourself falling in love with her?   Especially with your parents and her parents all watching almost everything you do together.   To know you're being written about in Anne's diary, day after day?   What's it like to start questioning your religion, wondering why simply being Jewish inspires such hatred and persecution?  Or to just sit and wait and watch while others die, and wish you were fighting. As Peter and Anne become closer and closer in their confined quarters, how can they make sense of what they see happening around them? Anne's diary ends on August 4, 1944, but Peter's story takes us on, beyond their betrayal and into the Nazi death camps.  He details with accuracy, clarity and compassion the reality of day to day survival in Auschwitz - and ultimately the horrific fates of the Annex's occupants.

Touch of Evil (Thrall, Book 1) THIS BOOK HAS BEEN ON MY TBR PILE. THOUGHT I WOULD GET IT READ!
Kate Reilly has a hard time trusting people.
Six years ago, the love of her life turned her over to the vampire parasites who call themselves the Thrall. Katie survives the powerful bite of the master parasite only to discover that the Thrall’s venom, coupled with her own natural psychic ability, has transformed her. Now she is next in line to be the Thrall Queen -- and each day might be her last as a human.
Tom, a handsome firefighter, arouses all of Katie's dormant senses, but her heart shies away. After Dylan's betrayal, how can she trust any man -- even a seemingly perfect and terribly sexy werewolf?
Tom's sincerity -- and sex appeal -- begins to wear down Katie's defenses. But his increasingly insistent charm hides a potentially deadly secret: his werewolf pack is hiding the one person who can stop the Thrall from completing Katie's transformation into Queen -- and they won't give her up.

Wow, you've got all sorts of books going on. I haven't read any of the Night World books but have read her Vampire Diaries series and enjoyed those. I'll be looking for you review of that one to see what you think!

Kim-I am glad you like the Night World Books, I do have the next two in this series but I hate to admit it but I just can't get into them...:(

Jenny-most likely won't be reviewing the Night World books. I just can't seem to get into them and would hate to do a poor review on them when they seem to be popular. They just might be to "young" for me. I need a little more substance to a book. I did enjoy the Vampire Diaries books when I read them too and I love the TV series based on them!

I have the Melissa De La Cruz books on Mt. TBR as well! Interview With the Vampire is what got me into the whole love of paranormal I have to say, before that book, I'd really never read anything where a vampire was the main character, and so likable! Anne is definitely one of my favorite authors, even though I haven't like everything, she's still an amazing writer!

My WWW is here if you'd like to stop by!
