REVIEW
Belle, Ebenezer Scrooge’s past love, fears for the safety of Scrooge. Because of her ability to see the dead she calls upon Scrooge’s old friend, Jacob Marley, to intervene and show Scrooge the way before it is too late. As with the classic tale, Scrooge is visited by three ghosts who show Scrooge that it was the vampires that have caused his lifetime of pain and isolation. His eyes are opened to the ways that the King and Queen of the vampires have maneuvered people around him and have been grooming him to become one of them so that he does not father the Scion of the Great Culling who will be the death of all vampires.

This retelling seamlessly intertwines Dicken’s A Christmas Carol with the imagination of Sarah Gray and her dismal vampires. The characters of Cratchit and Scrooge’s nephew Fred are transformed into vampire slayers who if they are unable to save Scrooge’s soul will eventually lose their battle with the vampires. I really enjoyed this view on this holiday tale. I know that sometimes it can be a bit much when an author decides to retell a classic but for me it is fun to read something just a bit off the wall to jazz things up. The battle for Scrooge's soul is an engaging read.

Oh wow, that sounds really unique. And it's not often the vampires are the bad guys theses days!
