Audio Book Review: Daddy's Gone A Hunting by Mary Higgins Clark

Narrated by: Jan Maxwell
Publication Date: April 9, 2013
Format: Audio CD Unabridged
Source: publisher

Daddy’s Gone A Hunting ties together two mysteries. One is missing person case over 30 years old and the other an antique furniture store explosion leaving one woman severely injured and another dead that just happened. Once a body is found underneath the parking lot pieces of the puzzle start to fitting together. Memories long buried in the mind of the woman caught in the explosion, who happens to be the daughter of the owner, start to surface leaving the money hungry father desperate to cover up his past.

It has been awhile since I have read a Mary Higgins Clark mystery and I have to say that they are exactly how I remembered them. Fast and kind of to the point light mystery that will have most people trying to figure out the mystery. I on the other hand figured most of it out fairly quickly so when all was revealed it wasn’t a big shocker.

If you love light mysteries without all the violence and are a fan of Mary Higgins Clark you will not be disappointed. On the other hand if you need more twists and don’t want to be able to figure out the ending then you might want to find a different mystery to read. As for the narrator, Jan Maxwell, I thought she did a very good job and would listen to another audio read by her.
