BLURB (via Amazon)
I’d rather face a dozen lethal assassins any night than deal with something as tricky, convoluted, and fragile as my feelings.

But here I am. Gin Blanco, the semi-retired assassin known as the Spider. Hovering outside sexy businessman Owen Grayson’s front door like a nervous teenage girl. One thing I like about Owen: he doesn’t shy away from my past—or my present. And right now I have a bull’s-eye on my forehead. Cold-blooded Fire elemental Mab Monroe has hired one of the smartest assassins in the business to trap me. Elektra LaFleur is skilled and efficient, with deadly electrical elemental magic as potent as my own Ice and Stone powers. Which means there’s a fifty-fifty chance one of us won’t survive this battle. I intend to kill LaFleur—or die trying—because Mab wants the assassin to take out my baby sister, Detective Bria Coolidge, too. The only problem is, Bria has no idea I’m her long-lost sibling . . . or that I’m the murderer she’s been chasing through Ashland for weeks. And what Bria doesn’t know just might get us both dead. . . .

First Line
“Are you going to kill this guy? Or are we just going to sit here all night?”

REVIEW
With that opening line, Estep does not let me down with the fourth installment of her Elemental Assassin series. Gin Blanco and the rest of the characters are just as snarky as ever but now Estep reveals that even a hard-ass assassin can find love and acceptance. My favorite scene has to be at the end when Gin walks into Owen’s living room with her baby sister at her side. I actually had tears starting!

Tangled Threads focuses on Gin’s vendetta on Mab Monroe for killing her family. The only other survivor is Gin’s baby sister, Bria, who is now a police detective who has made it her goal to find the Spider and stop her from killing. Little does she know that the Spider and Bria’s missing sister Genevieve Snow are one and the same but now known as Gin Blanco. Gin struggles with how she is going to reveal herself to Bria. She doesn’t think she could handle it if Bria rejects her. Before she can deal with Bria, she must finish her war with Mab. Slowly Gin works her way up the ladder, leaving her mark so that Mab knows the Spider is gunning for her. Mixed into all of this, Gin is also struggling with her feelings for Owen. She is just waiting for that day that Owen looks at her with disgust and leaves her like Donovan Caine did. Owen is making it pretty clear that he is in it for the long haul and is patient with her. And to just make matters even more complicated, Mab has hired another assassin named LaFleur to take out the Spider once and for all.

Another fast-paced amazing read. Estep knows how to keep a reader glued to her stories. If you have missed the other books in the series it is time to start catching up!
