FIRST LINE
Existing in the shadows of our world are supernatural races; children blessed by the ancient Greek gods with unimaginable gifts and at present they are fighting a two-thousand-year old war with one another.

**I try not to include spoilers in my reviews but since this is part of a series, some spoilers are unavoidable.**

REVIEW
Now that we have been eased into the history behind the Midnight Coven and the Daylight Coven, the second installment of the Tale of Lunarmorte focuses on eighteen-year old Caia Ribeiro. Caia is grown more comfortable with her half-lykan, half-water magik along with being half-Daylight and half-Midnight. Sounds crazy but that is just what the gods wanted. She will end this war…it is destined.

After rescuing Jae from her crazy uncle who tortured Jae, Caia lets Jae run away to be by herself for awhile. Caia knows what Jae went thru; she saw it all via Ethan’s eyes. Caia is able to tap into Midnights and see what they are sometimes seeing and feeling. What is new is that Caia has been noticing that all Midnights are not evil. Some even are being tortured by their own kind! Caia is asked to come to the sanctuary to begin her training by Marita. Even though Caia and Marcus are keeping their distance for now she stills brings him along and wants him close by. Things are not what they seem and there are more nefarious plans going on. Caia discovers some earth shattering secrets that will throw everyone into a tail spin and put the pack at risk of being attacked.

Jae has discovered that she now has telekinetic abilities. It scares her to death. There is now way that the Pack is going to accept her now. But she needs to go back. Caia has sent for her and Ryder is going to fetch her. Unfortunately Jae will have a little tag along named Reuben. Reuben is a vampire who no one knows how old he is. He and Jae have been hunting rogue vampyres together since she left the pack. You get the sense that something is not right but he seems so dedicated to Jae that you feel that he is in love with her and jealous that Ryder comes in and sweeps Jae off her feet.

In River Cast we have two budding romances building. Marcus and Caia of course are having their ups and downs but secrets will bring them closer and Ryder and Jae find each other through the craziness that surrounds them. I still love the characters and now the series seems to really be taking off and I can’t wait to read how this will all end! Very appropriate for the YA paranormal readers.
